The Guilty Verdict against Trump and its implications
After a trial that went on for 5 weeks, Donald Trump was declared "guilty" in the Hush Money trial case at a court in Manhattan, NewYork city a few days ago. The entire country is still in a state of shock, following this.
The indictment in this case alleged that Trump was a part of an illegal conspiracy to undermine the integrity of the 2016 Presidential Elections. While hush money payments are not illegal in themselves, each charge was tied to a specific allegedly false entry among the financial records of the Trump Organization. Stormy Daniels, a pornstar filed a case against Trump alleging him of trying to conceal some hard facts that could have gone against him in the 2016 Presidential Election. She alleged that the former President had paid her 130,000 dollars in 2016, to keep her mouth shut about their affair in the year 2006 so as to maintain his reputation as a candidate, worthy of getting elected as the POTUS (President of the United States). Since each charge was tied to a specific allegedly false entry among the financial records of the Trump Organization, it is believed that the whole thing became big enough for the Judge to declare Trump "guilty". It was a long trial that began in the middle of April 2024 and ended at the end of May 2024. According to Republican party members and Trump himself, it was a sham trial. There was no case at all. This was all done to harrass him as a part of the election interference carried out by Joe Biden and his team. The Judge Briggs was a Democratic party supporter and his daughter was a fund-raiser for that party. The DA (District Attorney) was totally partial against Trump.
Trump was under a Gag order which prevented him to defend himself against all kinds of allegations, implanted upon him one by one. It was not a fair trial at all. Eventually, Trump lost it and the judge declared him "guilty" in this Hush Money case as well as on 34 other felony charges!!! His sentence of punishment will be declared on July 11th.
There is about 50% chance that Trump will get a jail sentence, after this conviction. If that happens, not just political but the entire atmosphere inside the United States will go extremely volatile after that. Trump has vowed to take this case to the higher courts and win it over there. The Republican Party totally has his back. All those Republicans who truly love this country are filled with anger. A lot many of them think - "How can Biden do this? How can he weaponise the justice system of the country so much so that the leading candidate of his opposite party, ends up in jail, especially during the time of the Presidential Elections?? Surely, it's some "banana republic. It's a shame that such misuse of power is happening in the United States, which looks like some third world nation right now."
If Trump gets a jail sentence, he can still run for office from there. There is nothing in the Constitution of the US which prevents a convicted person from running the highest office. Trump is determined to run and he will, come what may. Meanwhile, if he loses the Presidential Election in November, then it's "Game Over" for him. He will have to serve the entire jail sentence, which can be a long one too, after which he would be too old to gather his strength and run again.
But if he wins the Presidency back, while in jail, he can first of all take Oath of Office from the jail. Then immediately, pass a Presidential executive order, which will relieve him from all kinds of indictments, felony charges and punishments imposed upon him forever, without any legal proceedings to be carried out in future at all, till he is alive.
Suppose he gets a punishment which doesn't include a jail sentence then the path ahead is much easier for him to tread upon. Judge Briggs may ask him to pay some amount to Stormy Daniels once again as well as to the Manhattan court, for trying to conceal his relationship with the porn star. He will pay that amount and get relieved from the case, after that.
Implications of this judgement:
------------------------------------------------
The implications of the Hush Money trial case judgment are already massive. In the recent polls that were done after the verdict of this case, Trump's lead over Biden has widened. He was leading by an average of 1.5 points in about 12 polls carried nation-wide. Now he is leading by more than 2.5 points on an average on those polls. Most of these polls were carried out not just on Republicans but on all people of the United States, which include those who are leaning towards the Democratic party also. Despite this, Trump's Lead widened. This shows most citizens of this country know how wickedly Joe Biden and his team has acted to declare Trump "guilty" in the Hush Money Trial case. They know he is innocent and doesn't deserve the kind of punishment he will be given on July 11th. The minds of some of those voting for Blue might be with Biden but their hearts are with Trump now. He is a victim of all these falsehood & lies and deserves sympathy right now and their votes in November.
Trump was also able to gather 141 million dollar worth of Election fund after being pronounced "Guilty" in the above case. That also shows that the support from his followers has remained unchanged, despite being proven Guilty. It is in fact growing at a rapid pace now and developing into a Psunami gradually, but definitely.
Yesterday Trump told a reporter that if, on July 11th, his sentence asks him to go to Jail, there are chances of widespread violent incidences across the country. "After all, this was a false case and I am the victim of this injustice. The people are already furious and if these guys put me in jail, they may become violent as well, who knows." However, he promised "to make them abide by law and to ask them not to get violent" from his side.
